Why use a secure server? 

When you fill out a form and click the send button, the data being sent across the network.

These data are transmitted from server to server until it reaches its destination. Could be collected (stolen) in any of the servers on which pass to reach its destination. 

A secure server guarantees the privacy of data you transmit over the network. That privacy is achieved through the SSL protocol, which uses digital certificates. 

What is a secure server? 

A secure server is a web server that provides an encrypted connection with the client, so that the information reported is only accessible by them. 

This is indispensable for using confidential information services: payroll consultations, academic records, credit card numbers, etc. 

How do we know that we are on a secure server? 

First, for the URL or address of the page. Typical becomes http:// https: / /.

The key to the lower left corner, which usually appears item is complete and in other versions, a closed padlock at the bottom, instead of the key, and another on the Security tab in the navigation bar. 

In Microsoft Internet Explorer: 

Appears as a closed padlock in the bottom of the browser. 

If you do not configure it, your browser will warn you that entering a secure server

If you click on the padlock or key, or the Security button (Netscape), a window appears that displays the server certificate that has been connected.
